Description
You can just feel the pent up energy in these flower heads
They're no bigger than a small marble
But many buds are packed in tightly eager to explode
One just couldn't wait any longer
Another isn't far behind
This is Petasites Japonicus.
It is also known as Fuki, Bog Rhubarb and Giant Butterbur
It's is a perennial native to Japan, China and Korea.
There parts of the plant make it onto the dinner table after proper preparation
What starts as a tiny clump of fragrant flowers shoots up three feet
And it grows 30 inch leaves
Talk about energy!
