Description
Comfrey has a pretty bell-shaped flower.
They are blue, violet, cream or pink; some are striped
But its real beauty is in its roots and leaves.
The roots run six feet deep and are able to mine more nutrients than other plants do.
One of them is potassium.
The leaves of Comfrey have 2-3 times the potassium of barnyard manure.
So organic farmers use the leaves as a mulch and a compost accelerator.
Comfrey is also known as knitbone and boneset.
It's a traditional herbal medicine.
But it's not to be used internally or on open wounds.
CAUTION: always check with a medical professional before taking any plant medicinally
