Description
This covered bridge came to be known as a 'kissing bridge'
That's because couples would be out of sight as they passed through
Built in 1881 entirely of wood
Since then it has been re-enforced and re-built using other materials
But it retains its original form
Location: West Montrose near Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
Length: 198 feet
Width:17 feet
Weight restriction: three tons
Bridges were covered to protect the wood from the elements
Without protection a bridge might only survive 10-15 years
It is the last historic covered bridge in Ontario Canada
The other four burned down
