Description
The triton or sea god is a feature of the iconic fountain in Forsyth Park Savannah
He blows a spout of water out of a conch shell while being showered by the sparkling mist of the main fountain.
This water work is a popular tourist destination
Interestingly the fountain is not a commissioned work of original art.
Rather it was ordered from the 1855 Janes, Beebe and Co catalogue.
Similar fountains are found in Poughkeepsie NY, Madison Indiana, and Cuzco Peru.
For St Patrick's Day the water is dyed green
